The Auto Reflex is a Japanese SLR taking no-need-darkroom 3×4cm film sheets, only known from the example shown in Sugiyama.[1]

The main body is shaped as a box and has a viewing hood above, hinged to the front. This hood has an embossing, which is faintly legible as Art Camera on the only available picture. This is certainly why the camera is attributed to an otherwise unknown "Art Camera Co." in Sugiyama.[1] The name "Auto Reflex" itself is not visible in the picture.

The lens is fixed-focus, has no diaphragm and is covered by a flap.[2] The mirror acts as a shutter, and allows to take Bulb or Instant exposures, selected by an index on the photographer's right.[1] The release lever is in front of this index, to the bottom.
